He Kept His Job for 80 Years…..Guess Who?

He kept his job for 80 years.

That is incredible by any generations standards.

Genesis 50:22 “Now Joseph stayed in Egypt, he and his fathers household, and Joseph lived one hundred and ten years.”

When God takes you on His path to His purpose , you get to do it for a very long time.

I  never realized that Joseph served in his role for 80 years.  Did you get that?  80 years as second in charge of the planet.

He became second to Pharaoh at age 30 (Gen 41:46).  He dies at 110.  He serves for 80 years.

If you try to take short cuts to the dream, your longevity will be shortened.

Because God’s paths are for maturing you for the position that you step into.

For Joseph to serve 80 years, he did not read leadership books, did not get his MBA. God’s curriculum was different.

He would get him there by way of ….

BETRAYAL BY THE CLOSEST PEOPLE IN HIS LIFE

(his own brothers sell him into slavery)

FALSELY ACCUSED TO THE EXTENT OF PUNISHMENT

(he is imprisoned for his moral purity)

AND THEN FORGOTTEN WHEN YOU WERE PROMISED YOU WOULD BE REMEMBERED

(he interprets dreams for others who promised to help him)

Who would have thought that this school was the way to the throne?

Not me.

But God did.

And God’s man was ready to serve for 80 years under this curriculum.

Your disappointments right now may really be God’s curriculum.

What may seem like a setback is really a move forward.
