THE DAY GOD PULLED ON “ALL NIGHT-ER”!

Remember the days of school and pulling an “all night-er” for a test or exam or paper?

The coffee was flowing and you were looking for all night diners and coffee shops.

It was called cramming.

I want to show you a very surprising Person that pulled an “all night-er”….it was God.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO PART THE RED SEA?

Sounds like  a silly question.

But I think there is more here than trivia.

There is an interesting phrase in Exodus 14:21, the night God parted the Red Sea.

It seems that the parting of the Red Sea was not done in seconds like portrayed by Hollywood.  I can see in my mind Charlton Heston standing with the staff in his hand and the waters parting in a moment  so that the almost 4 hour movie can come to it’s climax and close.

But the Bible does not say what Cecil B. DeMille portrays. Now grant it , I know it’s a movie but let’s see what the Bible says.

It says here “all night”.  An “all night” parting of the waters.

Could this have been an all night process to protect ocean life?  I don’t know the ramifications of parting an ocean. I don’t have that on my resume.

It could be but I think there is another reason

GOD WAS SAYING “YOU HAVEN’T SEEN ANYTHING YET”

There is this amazing verse in Deuteronomy 3 that puzzles me and excites me at the same time.

It is the last book of the OT that Moses writes and this is what He says about God.

Deut 3:24 ‘O Lord God, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand…”

“BEGUN”! That’s the puzzling and crazy word.

“YOU HAVE BEGUN TO SHOW”?

Is that crazy? Does Moses really say those words all the way into Deuteronomy
