THE AMAZING NOW BECOMES MORE AMAZING

I love the verse in Matthew 19:26 “with man this is impossible BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.”

What is exciting is what this verse is connected to.
This is a response to a question.
The question makes this amazing verse more amazing.

Here is the question from verse 25:  “Then who in the world can be saved?”

The disciples were asking this after the Rich Young Ruler walked away from Jesus.
They, probably thinking of others that needed to follow Jesus, asked this question that we also ask at times.
Our question will be more like this:  “Will my mother, my father, my family ever get saved?”
And the answer to that question is….

WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!

Who’s Really Getting Happy?

Just because you say it long enough & loud enough  does not make something true.  That goes for propaganda as well as Bible.  Let me show you one of those instances.

What we say and what the verse really says…..

Luke 15:10

In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

Read it again……S-L-O-W-L-Y

We have said things for so long that we just think it’s true.

We say at the end of an altar call where people became Christians….the angels are rejoicing right now

I’ve said that

But what does the verse actually say?

Does the verse even say that angels are rejoicing?

It really doesn’t ….what it does say is even more powerful.

It says “there is joy IN THE PRESENCE OF THE ANGELS of God over one sinner who repents”

I don’t think we are straining a gnat or parsing words here but I think we are missing a mountain in front of us.

SO WHO’S REJOICING HERE? Not the angels. At least that’s not what it says.
