As I read the Bible, I impose questions upon the Scriptures. When I come across something I don’t understand or I can’t get, I will write in my journal the question I’m asking upon that text. For Genesis , I have a host of questions….but the one in chapter one is glaring and it’s on DAY 2 of creation.
There is an interesting fact about the second day of creation….God’s work on the second day is the only work in 6 days of which there is no mention of “And God saw that it was good”. It says so at the end of every day except this one day…day 2.
Why wouldn’t God say “it was good” on day 2?
How come no tag line on that particular day?
Certainly not because God’s creative work hit a lull and is faulty and everyone deserves one bad day. God is incapable of making mistakes.
Why wasn’t the pronouncement made that was made on every other day of creation?
Think about what was created on day 2….
It was the making of the “firmament” which He would call “heaven” (vs 8)
Could it be that God knew that this would be the beachhead of Satanic powers? Did God see the heavenly places as the realm of evil?
Eph. 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The habitation of evil could not be called “good”
Just my thoughts
Just my opinion
and just thinking out loud….
